Went up to my mom's yesterday to help her pack her stuff to go on a beach vacation for the coming week. Hopefully, she will relax this coming week and forget about all of her physical limitations she has had to deal with in the recent months.
A Global Garden of Good Deeds
Just In Time!
Submitted by AlanGeorge on Fri, 07/31/2009 - 2:05pm.As I was leaving work I noticed a woman wandering aimlessly through the parking lot. Watching her, I sensed a woman who was not only lost but who had to be somewhere fast! So I pulled up next to her and asked her if I could help her with anything. She was a local saleswoman who had to use the bathroom as soon as possible. I pointed her in the direction of a bathroom, and she went on her way jogging towards the lavatory. I hope she made it!
Making it easier for others.
Submitted by KelliRoo4eva on Fri, 07/31/2009 - 10:56am.Not a lot of you know, but I work at a hotel in my town. I am known for giving the best deals to others, because since this economy is so horrible I strongly believe that everyone should help everyone in their own little way. My way is to discount the prices of our rooms about 20-40%. For example yesterday a woman came in asking for the best deal she could get. I asked her if she had triple A, and so on. She had none that we offered. She looked extremely tired, and she had two children. So I gave her a room for 45 dollars, which was almost 55% discount.
Giving Water to the Thirsty
Submitted by hammie on Fri, 07/31/2009 - 9:26am.Had two gentlemen at our house removing piles of lumber from our back yard from dismantling a pool. It was a really hot, humid day and they were really looking parched so I offered them a glass of nice cool water. They were so thankful. Such a simple thing -- yet so appreciated.
Putting at ease
Submitted by hammie on Thu, 07/30/2009 - 7:28am.Coming home from visiting my son in California I was in line at San Diego Airport security. A woman behind seemed very anxious about the procedure of going through the line. I told her what to do with her items and put her mind at ease. She was very thankful as she said she hadn't flown in over 20 years and was going to South Carolina to see her youngest daughter graduate from Army boot camp. I thought it was funny that I was helping someone at the airport because it was only 3 short years ago that I had flown for the first time in over 30 years to visit my son

lights out
Submitted by erins717 on Tue, 07/28/2009 - 8:55am.There was a car parked with the lights on, it was an old car so I knew the battery would be dead by the time the owner came back. So I went over saw it was open and turnned the lights off for them, to spare them the hassle of having the jump their car.
Bringing Good Luck To Others
Submitted by GoodDeeder on Tue, 07/28/2009 - 6:41am.yesterday my mom and i visited san diego's wild animal park and took a 3 hour safari tour... it was awesome! about half way through the expedition, we stopped in a little rest area and they gave us water and a few snacks. it was obvious that this was the place they stopped with everyone during this specific tour. i am a firm believer in good luck and believing in the power of positive thinking.
It has been a crazy couple of weeks!
Submitted by DParker619 on Mon, 07/27/2009 - 10:21pm.At Peace at Last!!
People, I have to tell you the pace I have been running for the last 3 weeks. In that time I executed, cook for and had over 30 of my family come together for the first Parker Family Reunion in over 20 years.
It was long overdue.
Now Wash It Out, haha
Submitted by wuzupwrld1 on Mon, 07/27/2009 - 8:17pm.The other week I brought home 11 tie dye t-shirts that my kids made at camp and individually washed and dried each one so that they could wear them to a field trip because I knew they would really want them and I knew some of the kids' parents didn't have washers and dryers. And as a sidenote, they turned out really cool haha!
